In a spine-chilling suicide case, a 20-year-old student first tied a stripped electric wire on both his hands, then put the other end of the wire in the plug and turned on the switch with a broom, after which he got electrocuted and died. The boy had registered for admission in B-Pharma and his admission was due on Monday. No suicide note has been recovered from the spot.
Police are investigating the matter. The incident took place on Saturday evening in Neelbad area. SHO of Ratibad police station, Sudhesh Tiwari told ‘The Hitavada’ that Kuldeep Verma (20) son of Gajraj Singh was a resident of Bilkisganj, Sehore. In the same year, he completed his BSc and after this he registered for admission in BPharma at VNS College. He had rented a room in Krishna Colony, Neelbad. On Saturday evening around 7:30 pm, the police received information that Kuldeep was not opening the door of the room. Police reached broke the door and went inside the room. Kuldeep was found lying on the ground.
Electric wires were tied in both his hands. According to preliminary investigation, Kuldeep tied a wire in his hands and attached it to the socket. After that he turned on the switch with a broom. He died of electrocution, however, the wires had come out of the plug due to snag. The reason for the suicide could not be revealed as the suicide note was not found. Police are checking his mobile phone details.
Had told father everything was fine: Kuldeep’s father is a farmer and Kuldeep was his only son. He spoke with his father on the evening of August 26 and said that everything was fine. On Saturday morning, the father called again, but Kuldeep’s number was switched-off. He even called the landlord. The landlord told the father that he was on duty. When he reached home in the evening, he found Kuldeep’s door locked from inside. When he did not wake up even after giving many calls, the police was informed. Kuldeep had worked at a medical shop: Kuldeep’s brother, Raj Kumar Verma told cops that he had completed his BSc this year. He came to Bhopal only a month ago and used to work at a medical store of New Max Hospital by renting a room in Neelbad. He had taken leave on Saturday by messaging the operator of the medical store. He had messaged that he has to go home, so will not be able to come on Saturday. He had also asked for Rs 34,000 from home for admission. Out of which he had deposited Rs 10,000 for registration.
