A ten-day old mutilated body was found on the railway tracks between Sukhi Sewania-Bhadbhada railway stations in Bhopal on Sunday night.
The youth could not be identified as he did not have any ID. In a preliminary investigation, the police found that the youth must have been sitting at the gate of the train and fell down while sleeping. The young man was wearing blue pants and a T-shirt. Police are now trying to identify the youth on the basis of his clothes.
Police had to walk a distance of about two kilometres to take the dead body found on the side of the railway track in the forest area to the hospital for post-mortem. The dead body is said to be about a week old, which had started decomposing and foul smell was also coming from it. However, during the search, the police did not find anything to identify the deceased. The police are investigating the matter.
SHO of Sukhi Sewaniya VBS Sengar told ‘The Hitavada’ that at around 4 pm on Sunday, there was information about the body of an unidentified person lying on the railway track near village Gidhgarh. A team of seven cops reached the village Gidhgarh from the police station. From there, the police had to walk for about two km to reach the spot. After the FSL team inspected the spot, the body was brought on a stretcher to Gidhgarh on foot. After this, it was sent to Hamidia Hospital for post-mortem.
The team that reached the spot included, ASI Sumer Singh Uike, B P Singh, Ram Singh Meena and OP Shukla. The vehicle was parked 2 KM before the railway track as the police vehicle could not reach the spot. According to the police, the youth was between 24 and 30 years old. Such incident had happened earlier This is not the first case of death by falling from a moving train. In this 2-3 km radius such an incident has happened before. On August 23, body of Pankaj Manjhi was found in the same area. The deceased Pankaj was a resident of Jharkhand. He used to work in the thread factory here and had boarded the train to go to his village. But Pankaj fell from the train midway and died on the spot.
