Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Ankur Abhiyan started for plantation with public participation is a campaign to save the Earth. In this, work is being done to plant 75 saplings each in all panchayats of 8 districts of Gwalior and Chambal division and each ward of urban area. In the urban and rural areas of Gwalior, Shivpuri, Guna, Ashoknagar, Datia, Morena, Bhind and Sheopur districts, massive plantation is being done simultaneously at 7,738 places in Ankur Abhiyan.
This work of conservation of nature started with public participation is exemplary. Other divisions and districts of the state will also follow this work of nature conservation.
CM Chouhan was addressing plantation programmes in 8 districts of Gwalior and Chambal division virtually from the residence office on Wednesday.
Farmers Welfare and Agriculture Development Minister Kamal Patel, Minister of State for Horticulture and Food Processing Bharat Singh Kushwaha and Principal Secretary Environment and Director General EPCO Aniruddha Mukherjee were present. Environment Minister Hardeep Singh Dang virtually participated in the programme. CM Chouhan extended his best wishes for the maximum number of 59,442 registrations in Shivpuri district in the plantation campaign that started from July 28. CM Chouhan virtually joined the programme held in all the 8 districts. He said that a large number of people are planting saplings in other districts as well. CM Chouhan said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had given the gift of Panchamrit in the Glasgow Conference of the United Nations to resolve the crisis of global warming and climate change. Plantation has an important role in achieving the goal set by India in Panchamrit. He said that trees and plants not only give us oxygen, but also a tree is the source of life for many animals. A plantation mega campaign is being run in the state during Hariyali Amavasya from July 28 to August 15, in which various communities, students, voluntary organisations, social and religious organisations, resident-welfare committees and religious leaders are involved and general public is being inspired to plant saplings. CM Chouhan motivated the people of the state to plant saplings on their birthdays, marriage anniversaries and in the memory of their family members. Plantation with national flag commendable: CM Chouhan said that planting saplings along with the national flag by the people involved in the plantation mega campaign during the Amrit Kaal of Independence would motivate people to participate enthusiastically in the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign. CM Chouhan inspired the people of the state to participate with full enthusiasm and zeal in the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign. CM Chouhan said that the country is celebrating the Amrit Mahotsav of freedom. We all should buy the tricolour on Independence Day and hoist the flag at our home with pride and dignity. CM Chouhan praised Harnam Singh Raghuvanshi of Ashoknagar district for his commitment towards plantation. So far 2,000 saplings have been planted by senior citizen Raghuvanshi and all the plants are alive and healthy. Under Ankur programme, registration has been done by 25,142 people in Gwalior district in the plantation mega campaign 24,140 in Guna, 25,968 in Ashoknagar, 39,573 in Datia, 13,805 in Sheopur, 24,335 in Morena and 17,744 people have registered in Bhind.
