The police administration under a joint drive with district administration and Jabalpur Municipal Corporation, on Thursday bulldozed the illegal house of history-sheeter Abdul Razzaq’s brother, Mohammad Riyaz. Riyaz got erected a three-storey luxurious house worth over Rs 1 crore on 750 square feet area. Senior officials informed that Mohammad Riyaz had illegally occupied 750 square feet of land in Naya Mohalla, Ripta area and constructed a three-storey luxurious illegal house. On receiving complaint in the matter and after thorough investigation by concerned departments, the anti-encroachment squad of the JMC, on Thursday razed the illegal structure. The action spread panic in the area. People gathered to see the three-storey luxurious house was grounded by the police, district administration and JMC.
It may be noted that a few days ago, Razzaq’s wife Subina Begum, brothers Mohammad Abbas, Riyaz and Mehmood received setback from the court. The Court had allowed the Municipal Corporation to demolish the illegal construction done by these people without taking due building permission from the civic body.
Accordingly, the police, district administration and JMC jointly conducted the drive against the illegalities committed by Mohammad Riyaz and demolished the illegal house.
Amongst the senior officials present during the demolition drive included ADM Sher Singh Meena, ASP Gopal Prasad Khandel, Additional Commissioner
of JMC, Rajendra Mishra, Deputy Commissioner Manoj Mishra, SDM Rishabh Jain, CSP Gohalpur Akhilesh Gaur, Naib Tehsildar Suresh Soni, Akanksha Chourasia, Building Officer R K Gupta, Station House Officer of Omti, Belbagh, Civil Line, Kotwali, Lordganj, Gorakhpur and other police stations.
