Huge turnout of devotees on last Shravan Somwar

Temples of Sanskardhani, especially the ‘Shivalayas’, have been witnessed throng of devotees on the last Monday of Shravan Maas. This year the last ‘Monday’ of Shravan Maas occurred on the special event of ‘Putrada Ekadashi’ and ‘Ravi Yog’. Therefore, fasting and performing spiritual practices on this day give the devotees all the blessings and fortune from Almighty Lord Shiva.
On the last Monday of Shravan Maas, the devotees visited temples across the city in large numbers and participated in the special religious practices and ‘Anushthans’ being performed at temples. In this series, a ‘Dhwaj Yatra’ was also made to the Madan Mahal based Sharda Devi Temple in order to offer ‘Dhwaj’ to Goddess Sharda on the pious month of Shravan.
It may be noted that devotees from far-flung areas, different social and religious organizations carry flags to this temple and offer it to the Goddess Sharda with devotion. During the entire Shravan month a fair has also been conducted in this temple, which shows communal harmony. Further, on the way to this temple, devotees also visit Peerane Peer Dargah with carrying green symbols. Apart from Madan Mahal Sharda Devi temple, a throng has also been witnessed at other old temples of Lord Shiva including Gupteshwar Mahadev Temple, Kachnar City Temple, Siddheshwar Mahadev temple, Bade Shankar ji Mandir, Pimpleshwar Mahadev Temple, Narmadeshwar Temple, Gwarighat and other such. Devotees also performed Jalabhishekh and Rudrabhishek of Lord Shiva. On this pious occasion of Shravan Maas, various religious Akhada will also take out Dhwaj Julus in the city.
