RAIPUR,
Taunting at Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel over his Delhi visit, Leader of opposition Dharamlal Kaushik said the way Chief Minister has put up demands at the meeting of the Niti Ayog is just a smokescreen to cover up his failures.
Kaushik said during UPA Government, states were given 32 per cent amount under the five-year plan. NDA Government increased it to 40 per cent. The increased amount is meant for development of the states. Central Government rose above party politics to support Chhattisgarh’s Congress Government, but still Bhupesh Government isn’t sensitive about the development.
Kaushik alleged Congress Government has failed to implement the Central schemes in Chhattisgarh while referring to State Government failing to spend the money granted under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
Kaushik informed around 17 to 18 lakh homes that meant for poor are now gone and the state has to incur a loss of around Rs 9,000 crore because of Congress Government. The State is also lagging far behind in achieving the target of 74 tap connections under Nal Jal Yojana. The target of 74 lakh tap connection was set to be completed by September 2023, but the State hasn’t yet delivered connections to 12 lakh homes. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari had also announced Rs 1 lakh crore for Chhattisgarh’s progress, but the state hasn’t yet made any plan in this direction. Kaushik said Congress Government lacks will power. They can’t even give the state’s share in centrally sponsored schemes. As a result many schemes aren’t taking off. Congress Government’s only job is to blame Central Government as Congress lacks any vision for state’s progress.
