NISHIKA Gokhe of Nagpur clinched twin titles while Pranay Gadewar and Krisha Soni too claimed crowns in the Sub Junior U-15 & U-17 State Selection Tournament that concluded in Pune, on Monday. Nishika won the Mixed Doubles Under-15 and Girls Doubles titles to make a memorable day for her.

Similarly, Krisha Soni and Pranay Gadekar too won titles in their respective doubles events as Nagpurians hogged the limelight in Pune.

In the Under-15 Mixed Doubles final, Nishika Gokhe and Pranay Gadewar pair beat top seed Anjiya Kulkarni and Yashasvee Kale 21-17, 21-15 to wrest the title.

Later in the girls doubles event, Nishika joined Ridheema Sarpate and the duo rallied to quell the challenge from Juie Jadhav and Yutika Chavan 2-1 for the title.

They lost the first game 17-21 but rallied brilliantly to take the second 21-16 and then the decider 21-18.

In the Under-17 Mixed Doubles Krisha Soni partnered with Prajwal Sonawane to claim the title defeating Soham Phatak and Pinak Rokde 21-17, 24-22.

All the podium finishers give the credit of their success to their coaches Ajay Dayal, Khelo India coach Jayendra Dhole and others.
