Indefinite strike, called by the State Government employees, has entered 10th day on Wednesday.
On the call of Chhattisgarh Karmachari Adhikari Federation (CKAF), the State Government employees have launched an indefinite strike in support of their two demands namely 34 per cent Dearness Allowance due from 2020 and House Rent Allowance as per the seventh pay commission from 2016. However, the State Government recently announced to give 28 per cent Dearness Allowance by hiking six per cent dearness allowance. Over 100 State Government employees’ unions are extending their supports to the strike. CKAF Convener Kamal Verma has requested Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel to fulfil the demands of the striking employees at the earliest. Tritiya Varg Sangh State President Ajay Tiwari, who superannuated, was honoured with shawl and shrifal at dharna venue Budhatalab Raipur on Wednesday. Meanwhile, talking to media persons at Swami Vivekananda Airport Raipur on Wednesday evening, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that if striking employees would not resume duty till September 2, stern action would be taken against the striking employees.
