In past few years, if one takes a look at the results of Class XII, one finds students scoring more marks in entrance test than in Class XII. Most students emphasised less on languages. Contrary to that Anuj Chandak, a probable topper in Joint Engineering Entrance (JEE) Advanced, scored 93 marks in English. He feels, equal focus on language helps in understanding other subjects better. Anuj Chandak secured All India Rank 85 in JEE Advanced.
Anuj, a student of Seva Sadan High School had decided to opt engineering when he was in Class IX. He did his schooling from Bhavan’s B P Vidya Mandir, Shrikrishna Nagar. In Class X, he scored 97.8% marks.
“I had decided to go for engineering in Class IX and in Class XI, I dropped Mathematics and opted Computer Science. From Class XI itself I started my JEE preparations,” explained Anuj while interacting with ‘The Hitavada’.
With less focus on State Board examinations as compared to the intensity of focus on JEE. Anuj scored 89% marks in Class XII. Though it doesn’t matter, Anuj scored less in Class XII than his own score in Class X.
Anuj who used to study for 10-12 hours daily has an advantage at home of the atmosphere. His father Anand Chandak, a Chartered Accountant himself had fantastic academic career. His brother Vibhor who is studying in Chandrapur’s Government Medical College had excelled in National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET). His mother Bharati is a home-maker who supported Anuj. Anuj, a self-motivated boy, studied with planning. He used to mark his own target and completed the same. Anuj has improved his own score of JEE Mains. In JEE Mains he got AIR-174 while in Advanced his rank is 85.
Anuj wants to become Software Engineer but he has not decided yet the branch, he wants to choose. “I am aspirant of getting admission in Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) as I feel it has right environment for studies, students of same caliber take admissions so the atmosphere is competitive. There are several top-class facilities in IIT which make students to think differently,” pointed out Anuj Chandak.
