Two persons killed in separate road mishaps

TWO persons, including a middle-aged man, were killed and one other injured seriously in two unrelated road accidents in the city. In the first incident, Ramakant Ramsiya Pande (50), a resident of Plot No 46, Kohale Layout, Wadi, was killed and his brother-in-law Ramlal Hanumanprasad Upadhyaya (45) sustained serious injuries after they were hit by a container truck (MH-40/N-6114) on Khadgaon Road Tuesday night. Pande was riding pillion on Upadhyaya’s Honda Activa (MH-31/KR-0394) around 9.15 pm. Near T-point on Khadgaon Road, the rashly-driven container truck hit their vehicle injuring them seriously. The trucker sped away fearing arrest. Pande was rushed to Well Treat Hospital, Wadi, where he was declared dead on admission.
 
After recording Upadhyaya’s statement, Wadi Police registered a case under Sections 279, 337, 338, 304(A) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), read with Section 134 and 177 of Motor Vehicle Act, against the unidentified driver of the container truck. In another incident, a motorcyclist was knocked dead by a speeding car on Hill Road in Gandhi Nagar Wednesday morning. The deceased, Shriram Anil Bhadang (30) was a resident of Flat No 28/8, Priyadarshini Colony, near RTO office, Civil Lines. Bhadang was going on his Hero Honda Splendor (MH-31/DE-6020) towards IT Park around 10 am. In front of Plot No 07, Hill Road, a speeding car (MH-31/ FE-2073) hit Bhadang killing him on the spot. Ambazari Police arrested car driver Vaibhav Vinod Mangrulkar (24), a resident of Deepanjali Apartment, Prasad Nagar, Jaitala, on charges under Sections 279 and 304(A) of the IPC following a complaint lodged by the deceased’s father.
