RAIPUR,
Terming the hike in power tariff in Chhattisgarh as exploitation, Former Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh demanded Congress Government to rollback the tariff hike.
Dr Raman Singh said Congress came to power on the pretext of halving the electricity bill, but now it’s burning hole in the pockets of citizens. Power Company has been turned into loot company. After giving task of meter reading and bill distribution to party workers, Congress is now giving shock to the commoners.
Dr Raman Singh slammed Congress for raising the power tariff four times within four years of tenure. Power tariff is now hiked by 13 per cent that will put a burden of Rs 120 additional on people paying an electricity bill of Rs 900.
Former Chief Minister said Congress Government a few months ago had hiked the power tariff by 10 to 15 paisa per unit and now it’s hiked by 30 paisa per unit. The Congress government can’t really improve the electricity supply system, but they sure turned it into a profiteering business.
Dr Raman Singh claimed there was no power cut during BJP Government and farmers didn’t have to long for electricity, which was also cheaper. Now the condition is such that no one can predict when there is going to be power outage. Congress Government is focused on squeezing money from citizens. Dr Raman Singh also blamed Congress of backing down from promises made to citizens. Congress did the same in Punjab and it lost. Instead of giving relief to the citizens, Congress Government is robbing them and hard-earned money of the exchequers is being transferred to Delhi. What election preparation congress is doing by increasing the power tariff, asked Dr Raman Singh.
