After Sagar and Bhopal, Indore was next on serial killer’s mind

The Khajuri Sadak Police have taken serial killer Shiv Prasad Dhurve, accused of killing Sonu Verma, the watchman of the marble warehouse, on a day-long police remand. The scene was recreated by taking the accused to the spot. During interrogation, he told the police that if he was not caught, his intentions were to spread his terror by committing murders in Indore. His motive behind spreading panic was to become a gangster. After the watchmen, his intention was to kill the elderly people. According to Khajuri Sadak Police, Shiv Prasad was brought from Sagar to Bhopal on Thursday morning on a production warrant. He has been produced in the district court and has been taken on police remand for one day. Shiv Prasad was taken to Gaura Marble godown located in Khajuri Sadak area. During the recreation of scene here, he entered through the broken wall of the warehouse and reached the place where the watchman Sonu Verma was sleeping. There he gave serial information about the murder to the police.
Kept amid tight security: Following the instructions of the top officials, Shiv Prasad has been kept under very tight security. Two policemen have been deployed to monitor him. Food is also being given to him in dona-pattal. There are clear instructions for people to be alert in security.
No signs of remorse on the face of accused: There is not even a wrinkle on the face of Shiv Prasad, who is just 18 years old. He kept smiling during the conversation. During interrogation, he told the police that after coming to Bhopal by train from Sagar, he had stayed in a lodge near the railway station. On the night of September 1, he had come to Halalpur bus stand in an auto. After this, he reached the Gaura marble warehouse on foot. There he killed Sonu Verma using a pillar of marble. Taking Sonu’s mobile, he reached Lalghati on foot. Based on his location, the Sagar police caught him. If he was not caught, he was going to go to Indore and kill others.
The accused is fluent in English: Shiv Prasad has worked as a waiter in big hotels, bars in cities like Chennai, Goa, Hyderabad, Pune. During his stay there he learned to speak in English. After committing an crime in Pune, he had to stay for a month and 13 days in Yerwada jail. Then his father got him bail. He told the police that an unidentified person had robbed him of money after he was released from the Juvenile Shelter Home. When he went to complain, the police reprimanded him and drove him away. Since then he started hating the watchmen. SHO of Khajuri Sadak Sandhya Mishra said that Shiv Prasad will be presented in the court after the remand period is over.
