Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel participated in ‘Bharat Jodo Padyatra’ in Kollam district of Kerala on Friday taken out by the Former Congress National President Rahul Gandhi.
Senior Congress leaders and workers in large number are participating in the Padyatra. Talking to media persons at Swami Vivekananda Airport, Raipur after returning from Kerala, Chief Minister Baghel said that he participated in the ‘Bharat Jodo Padyatra’ in Kollam district of Kerala on Friday. People in Kerala are giving rousing welcome to the Padyatra, he added. Earlier, Baghel had participated in the Padyatra in Tamil Nadu.
Replying to a query, Baghel said that the BJP leaders of Chhattisgarh are not pressurising Central Government to release remaining money to Chhattisgarh and the BJP leaders are only indulged in defaming the State Government.
Responding to another query on the BJP’s Sewa Diwas, Baghel said that the prices of petrol and diesel should be reduced by the Central government that would be a real service to the people of the country. It may be mentioned that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi launched the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ in Kanyakumari on September 7. The Bharat Jodo Yatra will cover 3,500 km and it will pass through 12 states and two Union Territories. The Yatra will be completed in about 150 days. The Congress party has appealed to all to be a part of the Bharat Jodo Yatra yatra for providing an alternative to the politics of fear, bigotry and prejudice and to the economies of livelihood destruction.
