SUSPECTING her fidelity, a mortuary attendant of Mayo Hospital brutally killed his wife creating sensation in Pachpaoli area Friday midnight. After killing his wife Sonu (36) at his house in Lane No 4, near Mandavkar Hospital, Lashkaribag, with a wooden stool, accused Parshuram Swamideen Brahmane (33) surrendered himself at Pachpaoli Police Station. An alcoholic, Parshuram used to frequently quarrel with his wife Sonu suspecting her fidelity. He often accused his wife of having an extramarital affair. Last night, Parshuram returned home in an inebriated condition and picked up a quarrel with her. After heated exchanges, Sonu allegedly threatened him to face dire consequences and also threatened to commit suicide. Parshuram lost his temper.

 

He picked up a small wooden stool and repeatedly attacked Sonu, killing her on the spot. Parshuram then himself went to the police station to confess to the crime. Parshuram told the cops that he used to have regular arguments with his wife as he had a doubt that she was having illicit relations with a man. He claimed that he got agitated with the constant nagging by Sonu and killed her in a fit of rage. Parshuram then asked the cops to visit his house where his wife’s body was lying in a pool of blood. Staff from Pachpaoli Police Station took Parshuram to his house and found Sonu’s body. After conducting the inquest ‘panchnama,’ cops sent the body to Mayo Hospital for post-mortem. A police officer told ‘The Hitavada’ that accused Parshuram was arrested on charges under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code following a complaint lodged by deceassed’s sister Shilpa Amit Hatgaiyya. Further investigations are underway.
