“It is possible to create a separate Vidarbha state but for this a proper strategy needs to be chalked out. No established party be it in power or in opposition will never give separate Vidarbha state. Various organisations, the parties working for separate Vidarbha and dedicated workers will create separate Vidarbha state. We have to push the demand in a constructive manner. People of Vidarbha should provide suggestions on employment, farmers, industry, mining, tourism, malnutrition. People waited for 100 years. Now, spend 100 more days, prepare a model and follow it till we have separate Vidarbha state,” said Prashant Kishor, a known personality as political strategist. Dr Ashish Deshmukh who is endeavoring to get momentum to the movement of separate Vidarbha state invited Kishor to Nagpur. Prashant Kishor on Tuesday interacted with several groups on Vidarbha issue at Chitnavis Centre.
“We will not work with any political party for the statehood movement. The people of Vidarbha are despite having their own resources undergoing sufferings. Except Nagpur, the condition of Vidarbha is like Bihar. Now it is time to intensify the movement of Vidarbha so that its voice would reach Delhi.
The 10 Members of Parliament can not help in creating separate Vidarbha for which 2.5 crore people should become a part of this movement. If we could create the hopes and faith in public then we will see separate Vidarbha soon,” said Prashant Kishor.
“I am impressed by today’s meeting. In our next meeting, 1,000 Vidarbhites should participate, the next one should have 10,000 people. This way the movement should go on rising. We have to create a Joint Action Committee of 150 people from 11 districts. First plan should be implemented in 6 to 9 months. The movement will start from January 2023 and by December the picture will be clear.
“The condition of the farmers and unemployed in Vidarbha have gone from bad to worse. Vidarbha has become backward in terms of financial and industrialisation. Small state always progresses so separate Vidarbha is a good solution. Prashant Kishor has chalked out a planned strategy for the Vidarbha movement. Now this movement should reach every village. The movement should become scalable, sustainable and structured. For the last several years the demand has been made but nobody is fulfilling it because political will is lacking. Youngsters too should participate in the movement in large number,” appealed Dr Ashish Deshmukh.
