‘India prepared todeal with any threatin healthcare sector’

UNION Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Friday underlined the need for de-politicising the discussions on health policy and infrastructure and adopting a more holistic approach across the whole spectrum of the populace.
He also asserted that a new India is prepared to deal with any threat in the healthcare sector. “A healthy India will be a wealthy India,” Mandaviya said speaking at the Public Affairs Forum of India’s (PAFI) 9th Annual Forum 2022. He said the new India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is an empowered nation and is well prepared to face any crisis.
Inching closer to the country’s Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) targets for the year 2030 regarding child health, India has achieved a significant landmark as child mortality rates have further decreased. According to the Sample Registration System (SRS) Statistical Report 2020 released on 22nd September 2022 by Registrar General of India (RGI), the country has been witnessing a progressive reduction in IMR, U5MR and NMR since 2014 towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) targets by 2030.
Congratulating the nation on this occasion in New Delhi, Mandaviya thanked all health workers, caregivers and community members for relentlessly working towards reducing child mortality.
Mandaviya to inaugurate ‘Arogya Manthan’ to mark anniversary of Ayushman Bharat schemes: Mandaviya will inaugurate ‘Arogya Manthan’ -- a two-day event to celebrate four years of the implementation of Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana and one year of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission -- on September 25. The event will see active participation of global and national experts from the healthcare sector along with representatives from the academia, think-tanks, industry and the media, according to a Health Ministry statement.
The Health Minister will interact with beneficiaries of AB-PMJAY from across the country on September 23.
Ashwini Vaishnaw, Minister for Electronics and Information Technology, Bharati Pravin Pawar, Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, and Dr V K Paul, Member (Health), NITI Aayog will grace the event, the statement stated.
