Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai district, which has been carved out from Rajnandgaon district, has come into its existence as 31st district of Chhattisgarh as Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel inaugurated new Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai district on Saturday.
The Chief Minister inaugurated the office of Collector and office of Superintendent of Police. Baghel also inaugurated Swargiya Sonia Bai Rajwar Art Gallery at Indira Kala Sangit Vishwavidyalaya Khairagarh.
Baghel performed bhoomipujan and inaugurated 95 works worth Rs 364,56,00,000, in which bhoomipujan of 82 works worth Rs 350,96,31,000 and 13 works worth Rs 13,59,96,000 was inaugurated.
The Chief Minister also distributed materials worth Rs 37,48,000 among 213 beneficiaries. Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Baghel congratulated the people of the new district.
Earlier, he was accorded a warm welcome by the people of new Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai district on his arrival. He also held his road show from Nawagaon to Raja Fateh Singh Sports Ground. Amid light rains, people standing roadside raised slogan ‘Kaka Jindabad’ in support of CM Baghel. He waved after coming out from his vehicle and standing on bonnet of the vehicle. Over 500 motorcyclists accompanied him during the road show. The people accorded a floral welcome to Baghel. He was weighed with 36 varieties of dishes at the residence of MLA Yashoda Neelambar Verma.
Culture Minister Amarjeet Bhagat, Agriculture Minister Ravindra Choubey, Forest Minister Mohammad Akbar, Khairagarh MLA Yashoda Neelambar Verma, Collector Jagdish Sonkar, other officials, public representatives and people in large number were present.
