RAIPUR,
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has come down heavily on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) after former Chief Minister and BJP National Vice-President Dr Raman Singh had criticised the Congress Government for renewing the implementation of National Security Act (NSA) in State.
Talking to mediapersons at Police Line Helipad in the State Capital on Sunday before leaving for Balod district, Baghel said that the NSA has been made by the Central Government. The BJP Government is in power at the Centre and if the BJP has any objection over the implementation of the NSA, the Central Government should abolish the law. The BJP leaders say that tribals and people from scheduled castes, converted to Christianity, should not get the benefits of reservation. The BJP leaders hold rallies over this issue in Chhattisgarh, but there is BJP at the Centre and even the Supreme Court said that the converted people should not get benefit of reservation. So why doesn’t the BJP Government at the Centre make a law to stop conversion, he added. The Chief Minister said that the issue of religious conversion is not only in one state, it is in all the states. Baghel said, “The BJP abolished article 370, brought demonetisation and GST. No one stopped it. Similarly a law should be made so that the converted people could not get benefit of reservation. But the BJP will hold rallies to incite people of the State.” The BJP enjoys making people fight. Don’t talk positively, don’t talk about connecting. They only talk about divide and fighting, he added.
The BJP wants to serve everything as if it is happening for the first time. The implementation of the NSA is not current decision of the State Government and it is a process of renewal. The BJP has not any issues. Now the BJP leaders are saying that the State Government will use the NSA against people. The NSA has not been used against any person, he added.
The BJP central leadership took to task the BJP leaders of Chhattisgarh as to why there is peace in Chhattisgarh and why the people of Chhattisgarh are happy and how prosperity is coming in all classes, this BJP is not able to digest at all. For this reason, the BJP is bringing new Sagufa, he added.
Responding to another query over BJP State President Arun Sao’s allegations over the NSA, Chief Minister Baghel said, “Arun Sao is a lawyer. Raman Singh had been the Chief Minister for 15 years. The NSA is the law of the Central Government. It is renewed every six months. I didn’t know about it either. When I asked, I came to know that this happens every four-six months. This happens in other states as well. The BJP leaders should also tell in which state it has not happened. Is it not in BJP ruled states? The District Magistrate is given this right every six months. Why are
the BJP leaders complaining about this?” Responding to another query, the Chief Minister said that Dr Raman Singh was first a Union Minister and after it, he was made the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh.
“Dr Raman Singh, who is the BJP National Vice-President, is not sent anywhere by the party and he has become unemployed. So we would like that Dr Raman Singh should become a Minister at the Centre. I am not talking about becoming governor. But if Dr Raman Singh becomes a Union Minister, Chhattisgarh will be benefitted. If he is the national vice-president, then he should be sent to somewhere else for the party work. We feel bad that he is the national vice-president and he is not sent even election campaign. There is no work at all.”
Dr Raman Singh is working as the BJP State Vice-President and it does not look good. Now the grapes have turned sour again. There is a hue and cry in the whole country that the cabinet is being reshuffled at the Centre and Raman Singh has already walked out from the race of the Union Cabinet. Even D Purandeswari had said that Dr Raman is not even a minor contender, he said. “Six months are left for the Chhattisgarh legislative assembly elections. Dr Raman Singh would not be even made the face of the party in the upcoming assembly elections. My sympathy is with him because we have worked together for so many days,” he added.
