RAIPUR,
Chhattisgarh Congress has hit out at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) after former Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh and BJP State President Arun Sao had opposed the implementation of the National Security Act (NSA) in the State.
Talking to mediapersons at state Congress party office Rajiv Bhawan in the State Capital on Sunday, State Congress Media Chief Sushil Anand Shukla countered the allegations of former Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh and BJP State President Arun Sao over the implementation of the NSA and said that former Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh, who is opposing the NSA being implemented by the Congress Government, had implemented the same law nine times during his third term from 2015 to 2017. Shukla said that that implementing NSA is a general process of the State Government in order to maintain law and order situation in the State.
The BJP has no any issues and so it is spreading lies to tarnish the image of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel-led Congress Government over this matter, he added. Shukla further said that the State Government takes various measures from time to time to maintain law and order, social and communal harmony of the State. No any new amendment has been made in the NSA during the Congress regime. Such notification is issued every three months. In the same sequence, the Congress Government in Chhattisgarh has issued the notification regarding the implementation of the NSA on January 3, 2023. Several new districts have been formed during the Congress rule and so only the names of the new districts have been mentioned in the new notification, he added State Congress Spokesman R P Singh, who was also present at the press conference, said that it seems that former Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh, who had himself implemented the NSA during his government, lost his memories after losing power. R P Singh advised BJP National Vice-President Dr Raman Singh to consume Sankh Pushpi regularly in order to maintain his memory. Several BJP leaders and workers have been arrested on the charges of anti-social activities in the State, he added. State Congress Spokesman Surendra Verma and Ajay Gangwani were also present at the press conference.
