CM Baghel celebrates first day of New Year with labourers

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel celebrated New Year with labourers at Chawdi located at Gandhi Maidan in the state capital on the first day of New Year, on Sunday.
The Chief Minister first offered floral tributes at the statue of Mahatma Gandhi at Gandhi Maidan. The programme began with the state song. CM shared the happiness of the New Year with the labourers. Baghel distributed sweets and blankets among labourers on the occasion. The Chief Minister extended his best wishes for the New Year to all the people of the state including labourers.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Baghel said that education is such a medium that can enlighten everyone’s life. Now, poor children in Chhattisgarh are moving towards realizing their dreams by taking admission in Swami Atmanand English Medium Schools.
The Chief Minister said that the State government has implemented several schemes for the workers and the benefits of which are availed by all the workers. Giving information about the schemes run by the state government for the labourers, the Chief Minister also announced to give new gifts to the Shramveers under the schemes.
The Chief Minister reached the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Shram Anna Yojana Kendra, which is run to provide hot food to the labourers and held discussion with the labourers over morning tea. Baghel said that ever since he became the Chief Minister, he comes to Chawadi to start the New Year with labourers. “By honoring all of you, today I feel that we are moving forward on the path shown by Gandhiji,” Baghel observed.
CM announced to start Mukhyamantri Aadharbhoot Shikha Prashikshan Sahayata Yojana to provide coaching and training to children of fourth and fifth classes for admission in Sainik School, Navodaya Vidyalaya and other private institutions.
The Chief Minister also announced to increase the amount of Mukhyamantri Shramik Sahayata Yojana for registered workers of Chhattisgarh Building and other Construction Workers Welfare Board from Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000. He also announced a free coaching facility to the children of labourers for competitive exams so that the children of laborers can prepare well for competitive exams. The Chief Minister announced to change the name of Medhavi Chhatra Chhatra Shiksha Protsahan Yojana as Mukhyamantri Noni Babu Medhavi Shiksha Yojana for registered construction workers in Chhattisgarh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board. The Chief Minister also announced that under the Mukhyamantri Noni Babu Medhavi Shiksha Yojana, assistance amount will be given to children of labourers for studying abroad, including new courses like Engineering, IIT, B.Tech, IIIT, M.Tech, MBBS, etc. He has also announced assistance of Rs 2,000 per year for stationery along with providing assistance in admission fee, educational fee, accommodation and food to the children of labourers for their higher studies in these professional courses. Mayor Aijaz Dhebar, Chairman of Chhattisgarh Housing Board Kuldeep Juneja, Speaker of Raipur Municipal Corporation Pramod Dubey, Chhattisgarh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board Sushil Sunny Agrawal and other public representatives were present.
