72nd Indian Pharmaceuticals Congress to be inaugurated today

The 72nd Indian Pharmaceuticals Congress (IPC) will be inaugurated on Friday at the hands of Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, at Jamnalal Bajaj Administrative Building, RTM Nagpur University campus, at 10.30 am. Dr Venugopal Somani, Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) and President of Indian Pharmaceutical Congress Association (IPCA) will be prominently present at the event. Dr Somani played an instrumental role in facilitating fastrack progress of COVID vaccines. He is an alumnus of University Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UDPS). Keynote address will be delivered by Dr Ajit Singh, Chairman, ACG Capsules Ltd.
Sanjay Rathod, Food and Drugs Minister of Maharashtra; S Aparna, Secretary, Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemical and Fertilizer, GOI; Abhimanyu Kale, Commissioner of Food and Drugs Administration, Maharashtra; Montukumar Patel, President of Pharmacy Council of India will be prominently present at the event. Dr Dominique Jordan, President – International Pharmaceutical Federation; Purushottam Agrawal, Chairman, Samta Group and Chief Patron and Mentor of LOC for 72nd IPC; Jagannath S Shinde, President, AIOCD All India Organisation of Chemists and Druggists, Patron of IPC will be addressing the conference.
Dr T V Narayana, President, Indian Pharmaceutical Association and General Secretary IPCA; Dr Pankaj Bector and Dr Vadlamudi Rao, Indian Hospital Pharmacists’ Association Representative; Dr Jayant Chaudhary, AIDCOC, All India Drugs Control Officers’ Confederation Representative; Atul Kumar Nasa, Indian Pharmacy Graduates Association Representative; Dr Milind J Umekar, President APTI, Organising Secretary of LOC-72nd IPC will also be present. This 72nd IPC is happening in city after four decades as the last one was organised in January 1981. Unveiling of Special Souvenir and Scientific Abstract Book of 72nd IPC at the hands of dignitaries will also take place.
A special attraction for the general public of Nagpur will be huge Pharma Expo wherein mega Pharma industries will exhibit machinery and technology showcasing the live operations and demonstrations of working of machines and instruments, which is otherwise impossible to get a chance to see. This expo will be open for all.
Local Organising Committee headed by Atul Mandlekar and assisted by Secretaries Milind Umekar, Prakash Itankar, coordinator; Dr Chandrakant Doifode, Vice Chancellor Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Dr Subhash Chaudhari, Dr Subhash R Chaudhari and Dr Pramod have appealed to the citizens and Pharma fraternity to witness this ‘never before and never again’ magnificent conference in large numbers.
Two important events will be held on Friday. CEO Conclave to promote Nagpur as an investment destination for Pharma and Pharma HR Conclave. Nitin Gadkari will be interacting with Dr Dilip Shanghvi, Founder & Managing Director of Sun Pharma; Dr S Sridhar, Pfizer India; Dr Krishna Ella, Bharat Biotech; Dr Sanjay Navangul, Bharat Serum and Vaccines; Suresh Sharma, Baidyanath; Amit Pendharkar, Vicco Ltd.; Ravleen Singh Khurana, Nikita Pharmaceuticals; Dr Anwar Daud, Zim Laboratories; Dr Mahendra Kshirsagar, Genetek Lifescience Pvt Ltd and more.
CEO Conclave will include series of lectures and discussions with around 27 Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) joining this mega event from different countries like USA, UK and South Korea. As per Dr Rashmi Trivedi, Coordinator, Pharma HR Conclave, this is for the first time in history that a unique initiative is being organised as part of the IPC, where students will get a chance to interact with stalwarts from renowned pharma industries.
The mega event consists of panel discussions, plenary sessions and keynote address by eminent personalities such as Rajorshi Ganguli, Arnabi Marjit, Dr Sunil Singh, Rahul Maitra, Shabnam Gaitonde, Suhas Ram, Sachin Gaur, Arvind Kumar, Bhushan Ghollar, Abhinav Srivastava and more, stated a press release.
