JUNIOR Resident Doctors’ Association (JUDO) has begun its state-wide indefinite strike to press for their pending demands. Besides, Dr B R Ambedkar Memorial Hospital in Raipur, the health services was severely affected in government hospitals by the strike.
Around 3,000 junior doctors assembled in the hospitals and staged protest for their long pending demands. JUDO members gathered in front of the Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru Memorial Medical College in Raipur wearing black ribbon and participated in the protest. The Jr. Doctors said that they were disillusioned by the assurances for past four years. President of Indian Medical Association Dr Rakesh Gupta also visited the striking junior doctors and extended support for their demands. He said that the demands were reasonable and the government should accept their demands at the earliest. The striking JUDO members took out rally from JLNMMC to the BRAMH and also explained to the troubled patient that going for the indefinite strike was a compulsion for them.
