SCHOOL life can not be explained in a single word as it has a combination of feelings for everyone. It forms various shades of everyone’s life that keep our lives colourful even when we have ended up using our own colours to paint life pictures.

A book of school life comprises colourful pictures and annual gathering is one of the most shaded pictures.

This page comes after the studious pages of the first few months. When students’ heads overflow with tons of concepts and their moods start inclining toward a kind of heaviness, there germinates an exciting seed of cultural gathering which is about to give a lifetime memory with melodious and juicy fruits of frolic to the students.

As the notice of gathering flashes on the notice board, the school premises turn into a studio, students into characters, teachers into directors and the melodrama begins.

In the excitement of practice, students complete their class work and homework at the speed of lightning. Now they don’t miss out school even for a single day so as not to miss out on practice. This phenomenon gives them super power that keeps them fresh and energetic even after classes and long practice.

This segment revives students who were found slow in classes. Sometimes, it surprises how these students learn the long drama script, emulate dance steps, get in tune with the music and remember even the smallest of instructions given to them. This makes it clear that they are not lazy, they just need the right atmosphere.

Then gathering day arrives. The students look stunning and charming in colourful attires as their roles require. The uniform clouds that usually give a routine view now transform into a variety of shades that make the school look incredible. Such shiny, stylish, ornamental, cultural, historic and folk costumes make the ambience celestial. The decorated faces dignify their joy, excitement and purity and their performances, lo, that make their roles immortal!

For the whole day, students forget to quench their thirst in the pursuit of quenching their thirst for acting, they forget their appetite in the pursuit of the hunger of rendering performances. Somewhere, their parents are seen running behind them and trying to feed them even the tiniest morsel just for their own satisfaction but they wander finding their own satisfaction on stage.

On this day, students dance, sing, act, shout, clap, roar, mutter and much more. Actually, they keep finding themselves the whole day, everywhere and in everything. Their hearts keep flying and roost where they find solace; solace from classes and books, from projects and homework, from compliments and punishments, from exams and results, from praise and rebuke. On that day, they just live for themselves. After living up every second of the day, it ends at last and so does the joy and enthusiasm. The new day rises up again expecting the students to be lethargic but the programme concludes with a message that students must henceforth concentrate in class because their devotion in class will determine how we shall meet next year.
