ELABORATE traffic arrangements are being made by the City Police for the two-day visit of President of India Droupadi Murmu to the Second Capital. President Murmu will inaugurate the Platinum Jubilee Celebrations of the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) on December 1. The President will also grace the 111th convocation of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) on December 2. Considering the safety and security of the President and other VVIPs accompanying her, some roads will be barricaded and traffic will be diverted from other routes.
A press release issued by DCP (Traffic) Chetna Tidke stated that parking of vehicles will be prohibited on either sides of the road from Rahate Colony Square to Dhantoli Police Station, Bholaganesh Chowk to Dhantoli Police Station, Baidyanath Chowk to Medical Square, Railwaymens T-point, Kamble Chowk to Medical Square, Kamble Chowk to Super Speciality Hospital up to Tukdoji Statue. From 6 am to 10 pm on December 1 and 2, vehicles coming from Wardha direction will either be stopped at Jamtha Square or will be diverted from other routes as per the convenience. Vehicles coming from Dighori Naka up to Medical Square and Manewada Chowk will be diverted from the outer Ring Road. Similarly, heavy vehicles coming from Kalmeshwar, Wadi and Dabha directions will be either stopped at New Katol Naka or diverted from other routes. Entry of vehicles will be strictly prohibited.
