RAIPUR,
In a jubilant atmosphere at the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Ekatma Parisar, party workers and leaders erupted in joy as the election trends began favoring the BJP. The party workers started filling the venue with exuberance, closely monitoring every seat gained by the BJP on television sets broadcasting news channels. The celebratory mood reached its peak when BJP leaders and candidates took the lead in the trends by afternoon. Applause and enthusiastic sloganeering echoed through venue whenever a senior leader's victory seemed imminent. By afternoon, BJP’s predictions of securing 52 to 55 seats appeared to be turning into reality, prompting the party workers to burst firecrackers and express their confidence in the BJP's return to power in the state assembly elections.
Former Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh, commenting on the unfolding trends, emphasized that the positive trends indicated a clear trust of the people in Prime Minister Modi's leadership and policies, overshadowing the appeal of Bhupesh Baghel. Though cautious about declaring victory prematurely, Singh stated that the BJP seemed to be heading towards forming the government, attributing the success to the hard work put in by the party workers. He highlighted the impact of Modi's guarantee and the faith people had placed in 15 years of BJP governance. Singh also addressed the issues that resonated with the voters, citing concerns about scams involving liquor, coal, the Mahadev App, and others. The desire for a change in leadership, especially among women and youth voters, was evident, with Singh expressing confidence that whoever the party entrusted with responsibility would become the Chief Minister. MP Sunil Soni, the first leader to arrive at Ekatma Parisar, attributed the electoral triumph in Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh to the relentless efforts of the party workers.
He echoed the sentiment that Modi's Guarantee played a pivotal role, emphasizing that people had grown weary of the Congress government's broken promises and scandals. Rajesh Munat, while addressing the shortcomings of the outgoing Congress government, criticized the state of law and order, asserting that goons ruled the roost. He highlighted issues with the capital city, citing Chaupati as a source of corruption and claiming discriminatory behavior towards the city. Munat accused the Congress of failing to deliver on promises, with little progress in the capital city and a lack of accountability for expressway projects. As the day unfolded and the BJP got ever closer to an emphatic victory, the enthusiasm at Ekatma Parisar continued to build, with BJP supporters expressing optimism about the party's prospects in state assembly elections.
