Team of Lokayukta Police, Jabalpur team arrested Chief Municipal Officer, Barghat while taking bribe of Rs. 10,000 for permitting building constructions at CMO Office, Barghat, on Friday. The accused has been identified as Kamini Lilhare, Chief Municipal Officer, Nagar Parishad Barghat in Seoni district.

Lokayukta DSP, Dilip Jharbade informed that an appellant named Jai Tembre (38), son of Rameshwar Prasad, resident of Barghat in Seoni district, lodged a complaint that he had applied for permission of 11 building constructions which were pending with the CMO, Office, Barghat. He contacted the Chief Municipal Officer, Barghat, Kamini Lilhare when she demanded bribe of Rs 2,000 each permission and the deal was settled with the amount of Rs 10,000 for permitting five constructions.

Acting on the complaint, SP, Lokayukta constituted a team and fielded the appellant for collecting evidences. Once the information was verified, Lokayukta police team led by DSP, Dilip Jharbade comprised of Inspector, Swapnil Das, Inspector, Manju Tirkey and team and trapped the corrupt Chief Municipal Officer while taking bribe of Rs 10,000 at

her office. Lokayukta police have registered a case against the corrupt government officer under relevant Sections of Prevention of Corruption Act while further investigations are underway.
