forest staff arrested three poachers for killing a leopard in Ormani under the Majhgawan range of Satna Van Mandal. However, as the leopard fell into the well, poachers could not take the animal away.
According to the information received from the Forest Department, the staffers arrested Pattu Kaul, a resident of Tikar, Jagga Rawat, a resident of Pratappur, and Petla Kaul, a resident of Pratappur. The accused confessed to hunting the leopard during interrogation. They told the forest staff that they had put a noose of GI wire and clutch wire a week ago to hunt wild animals and leopard got trapped in it. The leopard was beaten to death by the three with sticks. But the leopard fell into the well. After which all three ran away. Four days later, on February 24, his body was found lying in the well. Sources in the Forest Department said that the search for hunters was started after getting information about the female leopard hunting from the PM report. In Pratappur, the forest staff found some important clues on the basis of which Jagga, Petla and Pattu were detained. During interrogation, three confessed to crime. From them, 5 traps of clutch wire, 3 kg GI wire, a barley of iron and a noose wood have been seized.
