Patwari Motwani, retired Kotwar Jharia in Lokayukta net for taking bribe

Lokayukta Police, on Friday caught Mamta Motwani of Halka Patwari Barela of Jabalpur district red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 12,000. It is learnt that Lokayukta police took action on the complaint of Rajendra Prasad. It has made retired Kotwar Prakash Jharia co-accused in the case.
Senior officials informed that Rajendra Prasad, a resident of P&T Colony, Sant Nagar Gwarighat, complained to Lokayukta SP Sanjay Sahu that he had submitted an application to Patwari Mamta Motwani of Tehsil Barela for demarcation of agricultural land, but she was demanding a bribe of Rs 12,000 in lieu of passing the map. Taking the matter seriously, SP Sahu immediately constituted a team and gave necessary directions. Accordingly, on Friday the team of Lokayukta, including Deputy Superintendent of Police Surekha Parmar, Inspector Rekha Prajapati and Inspector Kamal Uike reached Tehsil Office Barela. As soon as Patwari Mamta Kotwani took Rs 12,000 as bribe, the team arrested her red-handed. Along with Patwari, retired Kotwar Prakash Jharia has also been made co-accused, he was also involved in taking the bribe money.
