Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that children orphaned due to the death of their parents will also be included in the ambit of the pension scheme ‘Bal Ashirwad Yojana’ applicable to children orphaned after death of their parents due to Covid. On the initiative of PWD Minister Gopal Bhargava, Chief Minister Chouhan described the marriage of 2,100 poor girls in Garhakota of Sagar district under Mukhya Mantri Kanya Vivah-Nikah Yojana as a ‘Mahayagya’ of social harmony. CM Chouhan participated in the 20th Punya Vivah ceremony of the scheme at Rahas Mela Ground, Garhakota in Sagar district. Former Chief Minister Uma Bharti, Urban Development Minister Bhupendra Singh and Public Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr Prabhuram Chaudhary also blessed the newly-wed couples.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that Minister Bhargava is not only a politician but also a social worker and a Vikas Purush. He always strives for the development of the State. The history of social service he created by getting 21,000 girls married is exemplary. The Chief Minister also described the wedding ceremony as a Mahakumbh of social service, in which more than one lakh people participated. He said that the aim of the Central and State Governmenst is that all daughters should be happy. No parent should worry about their daughter’s marriage. The State Government has implemented the scheme for girls from birth to education and then later for marriage. Now the biggest scheme for the welfare of women ‘Ladli Bahna’ has been started, through which an amount of Rs 1,000 per month will be deposited in the bank account of all the eligible women. Women will not have to wander here and there to join the Ladli Bahna Yojana, applications will be taken by setting-up camps in the wards of villages and cities. Chief Minister Chouhan blessed all the newly-weds who tied the knot in the marriage ceremony, wishing them a happy and successful life.
The Chief Minister and other guests greeted the newly-weds by showering flowers and gave them symbolic gifts. He also announced the approval of degree college in Shahpur on the demand of Minister Bhargava.
Minister Gopal Bhargava told that he and Chief Minister Chouhan started the practice of arranging marriages of girls from poor families 20 years ago. He told that 20 years ago I had started it in a small way, which has now taken a grand form. Minister Bhargava told that he got his son Abhishek Bhargava and daughter Dr Avantika Bhargava married in a similar mass marriage ceremony, later he did not give reception in any big hotel or five star hotel.
MP V D Sharma described Kanyadan as the biggest daan in Indian culture. He said that Minister Gopal Bhargava has done a virtuous deed by getting 21,000 poor girls married. At the outset, Minister Gopal Bhargava presented a memento the Chief Minister.
