MINI golf players of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) excelled in the All India Inter-University Mini Golf Championships that was hosted by Suresh Gyan Vihar University, Jaipur.
In the men’s team Fair Way event, varsity boys claimed gold and were followed by Nainital and Nanded universities that bagged silver and bronze respectively. The team comprised Parth Hiwarkar (Kamla Nehry Mv), Ankit Nandanwar (St Pallotti), Piyush Khope (IDCPE), Kushal Sahu (VMV), Shyam Neti, Sudhir Suhagpure (both VNGIASSE), Meet Kumar Trivedi (GS Wardha), Dyaneshwar Sawarkar (MG Parsheoni), Mahendra Gujjar (SS Mv), Vinay Gopalpure, Atharva Mahadole (both GHRCCST), Abhishek Kumawat, Sanjay Kumar Meena, Sumit Kumawat, Rakesh Kumar Jat (Indutai SS Mv), Harsh Gajbhiye (KDK College), Ranjit Sonwane (Bar SK Wankhede), Mahendra Bankar (NTCPE). Reserves: Tanmay Mane, Nikhil Dhurve, Sonu Narad, Nikhil Katkar, Pankaj Bhagat.
In Stroke event, RTMNU’s Aishwarya Dorlikar and Roshni Nehra bagged gold while another gold was won in mixed doubles by Kanchan Dubey and Ajay Dhakre. In Fair Way women’s singles, Ehna Kalib pocketed a bronze while women’s team also bagged a bronze in Stroke event. The women’s team included — Fatima, Payal Sakhare, Pooja Dubey, Ishika Inwat, Mamta Yadav, Pranali Rathore, Rehnuman Aalam, Anjali Jamgade.
Dr Vivek Sahu, Ninad Nimgade and Johny Bernard trained the players. Dr Meena Balpande and Arthur Kalib were the tam managers. Dr Sharad Suryawanshi, Director, Sports & Physical Education, RTMNU; Vice-Chancellor Dr Subhash Chaudhary, Pro VC Dr Sanjay Dudhe, Registrar Dr Raju Hiwase and others congratulated the team members and wished them luck.
