A meeting of Congress District Co-ordination Committee members, AICC representatives, State Executives and Presidents of various wings and blocks of the party was held to discuss organisational issues and on-going preparations for ensuing Assembly elections. State In-charge and MP Rajya Sabha, Jaiprakash Agrawal chaired the meeting.
Addressing the meeting, Agrawal said every Indian is our member. He said there is an atmosphere of fear among the citizens due to rising inflation, increasing unemployment and anarchy. Every Indian is worried about the condition of the country.
Speaking on the occasion, former State Minister, Tarun Bhanot said the Kamal Nath Government did a number of unprecedented works for the welfare of general public during its 15 months rule in Madhya Pradesh. The achievements are the report card of Congress. He said the short tenure of Congress Government is heavy on the 18 years rule of BJP. Bhanot said people of Madhya Pradesh are again ready to support Congress in the coming Assembly elections.
City Congress Committee President Jagat Bahadur Singh said Congress comes to power to serve people, while other parties do not have such thinking. He said Congress makes public welfare projects and implement the same. The thought and ideology of the welfare of the last person in the row is the proud tradition of Congress party. Later, other senior Congress leaders also addressed the meeting. They said the Block and Mandal level workers have taken charge. Every worker of Congress is very lively and full with confidence. They said Congress has always fought for the rights of poor, backward, tribals and minorities.
