Suicidal Choice

SO, THE Congress party is at it again -- abusing Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi personally in the filthiest possible manner. Obviously, it has not learned any lesson from the fact its leader Mr. Rahul Gandhi has just suffered a terrible blow to his political career for abusing the Prime Minister. He lost his Lok Sabha membership when a Gujarat court sentenced him to a two-year jail term for targeting people with surname ‘Modi’, implying thereby that Mr. Narendra Modi, too, was a man of suspect personality. Despite that, the Congress party has not learned any lesson to correct its conduct. Let alone other leaders, the octogenarian Mr. M. Mallikarjun Kharge himself indulged in a nonsensical but deliberate dirty comment against Mr. Narendra Modi. Obviously, the Congress party does not seem interested in protecting itself from making self-goals (to use a sporting term). Obviously, does not seem to have sat together to ponder over the setbacks it has been suffering for the past many years for making uncouth remarks against Mr. Narendra Modi even from his Chief Minister days.
This story of using filthy epithets for Mr. Narendra Modi started straight from Mrs. Sonia Gandhi, the then Congress President. Thinking that she was making a smart statement, Mrs. Sonia Gandhi called Mr. Narendra Modi Maut Ka Saudagar meaning a ‘trader of death’. Following in the footprint of the leader, other Congress rank and file started using abusive language against Mr. Narendra Modi left-right-and-centre, current President Mr. M. Mallikarjun Kharge being the last to add to the line of abusers. As his contribution to spreading filth about Mr. Modi, Mr. Kharge has now called the Prime Minister a “poisonous snake”.
Bah! There is no sense of shame. There is sense of responsibility, There is sense of dignity. There is no sense of respect for the institution of Prime Minister. Thoughtlessly and senselessly, the Congress party rank and file are indulging in heaping abusive language upon the Prime Minister. In the process, they did not spare even the Prime Minister’s father. Nobody could have imagined that the Congress party that claims to have given the country many democratic institutions, appears to have forgotten the so-called historic role it is described to have played to nation-building. Looking at its current conduct, nobody would grant the grand old organisation the status of the country’s premier political party. On the contrary, anybody not knowing anything about contemporary history of India might wonder if the Congress party really once led India’s great struggle for Independence. For, its leaders appear the happiest while heaping abuses on Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Damodardas Modi.
But Mr. Kharge crossed all limits of decency, decorum and dignity not just of his own but also of the Prime Minister and thereby of India. It was actually expected that being senior in age and political experience, at least Mr. Kharge would desist from making such thoughtless statements. But that common expectation makes no sense in the light of the internal contest among Congress leaders for giving choicest abuses to the Prime Minister. That was the reason why Mr. Narendra Modi said in a recent television event that the his opponents seem to have lost their sense of proportion. It is a matter of sheer shame that a leader of Mr. Kharge’s seniority should indulge in such an abusive language involving the Prime Minister of India!
“Poisonous snake”!!!! Mr. Mallikarjun Kharge to have gone off his mind. But let us approach the issue the other way round. Let us examine if the Congress leaders are using such filthy language about the Prime Minister, obviously a people’s darling, as part of a deliberate plan. Are they intentionally provoking the Prime Minister to take drastic steps -- so that they would be able to drag Mr. Modi into taking some hasty action against them? True, there would never be a direct answer to such questions. nonetheless, it is obvious that the final gainer in the process is the Prime Minister, as was rightly said by Mr. Modi himself and by several Bharatiya Janata Party leaders. Then, don’t the Congress leaders realise their folly? Possibly they do, but appear to continue doing the same thing again and again, may be as part of a grand political plan at the moment beyond decipher. But then, it is their own choice -- suicidal -- after all!
