Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that the Jat community is a courageous, hardworking and brave community. This community also does the work of stocking the grain store for the country. Jat Regiment has been inducted in the Indian Army. The community has given us leaders like Maharaja Ranjit Singh, Maharaja Yashodharman, Surajmal, Bhakta Karmabai, Maharaja Poras, Shri Puranmal and Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh. Veer Tejaji Maharaj is considered sacred in Jat community. Hence, with due respect to sentiments of Jat community, Veer Tejaji Welfare Board will be formed in Madhya Pradesh. There will also be an optional holiday on Teja Dashami, Nirvana day of Tejaji Maharaj. Along with this, necessary initiatives will be taken for educational buildings in Bhopal, Indore and Gwalior. History of Jat legends will also be included in school curriculum, so that younger generation can get inspiration and guidance.
Chief Minister Chouhan was addressing Jat Mahakumbh at BHEL Dussehra ground in Bhopal on Sunday. Former Union Minister Vikram Verma, Agriculture Minister of Madhya Pradesh Kamal Patel, MLA Neena Verma, Abhay Chautala and Yashpal Malik from Haryana, President of Mahila Morcha Madhya Pradesh, Maya Naroliya, Prahlad Patel, Sanika Jat, Hanuman Beniwal, Yudhveer Singh, Shailaram Sharan, Radheshyam Patel, Ramdin Patel, Bilash Patel, Narendra Jakhar, Shiv Patel, Radheshyam Patel, Nirmal Choudhary besides a large number of people’s representatives from Jat community and members of organisations were present. Representatives of Jat community from Madhya Pradesh and other states also participated in the conference. Chouhan while welcoming representatives who came to Jat Mahakumbh said that Veer Tejaswi Tejaji Maharaj made unrelenting efforts to stop cow slaughter and protect cow progeny.
It is believed that Jats originated from Jatas (hair locks) of Lord Shiva. Jats emerged as a major military force to resist the Mughals. Rajaram Jat, ruler of Bharatpur, started an organised rebellion against Aurangzeb. Similarly one gets to hear stories of bravery of Maharaja Suraj Mal and his son Jawahar Singh. Jat rulers like Raja Nahar Singh, Hira Singh, Bhupinder Singh, Raghuveer Singh Jind, Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh have left an indelible mark. Swami Keshavanand participated in the freedom struggle and contributed significantly in the field of social reform.
Chouhan also talked about taking necessary steps after examining other suggestions given by Jat community. He said that he got a lot of affection from Jat community in his childhood. At the beginning of his public activities, he was guided by senior leader Vikram Verma.
Thereafter Kamal Patel joined him as a colleague. At the outset, Chief Minister Chouhan paid his respects at picture of Tejaji Maharaj. Guests visiting Jat Mahakumbh were welcomed. Lakshminarayan (Pappu Bhai) Gora gave information about contribution of great personalities of Jat community in his welcome speech on behalf of Jat community.
CM Chouhan called on by office-bearers of Jat Mahasabha: Chief Minister Chouhan was called on by a delegation of Jat Mahasabha at Samatva Bhavan on Sunday. Former Union Minister Vikram Verma, Agriculture Minister Kamal Patel, Abhay Chautala, Satish Nadal along with functionaries from various states who came to Bhopal to attend the Jat Mahakumbh were present.
