A 20-year-old youth riding on a sports bike with a friend died after the two fell off a bridge in Gandhi Nagar area after their bike lost control over its speed and collided with the side wall of the bridge on Sunday morning. Both the persons fell off from a height of 35 feet, after which one person died on the spot, while the pillion rider was left severely injured and was rushed to the hospital for treatment where he is fighting for life. A video of the incident was captured on the CCTV camera installed in the Singarcholi locality. Police claimed that the duo was speeding and none of them had a helmet on. SHO of Gandhi Nagar police station, Arun Sharma, told that the youth who lost his life in the incident has been identified as Hifzul (20), a resident of Vasundhara Colony in Teelajamalpura area while the one who was injured is Salim of New Kabadkhana area. SHO Sharma said that the duo had gone for morning tea to a hotel in Shanti Nagar locality and were returning from there.

 

They were commuting through Yahama sports bike, which was streaming at a high speed. At around 6.10 am on Sunday, they reached the Singarcholi bridge, and lost control over the bike on a turn at Aasharam Tiraha. The bike collided with a side wall, while the duo got thrown over the bridge and fell from a height of 35 feet. Hifzul died on the spot, while Salim sustained grievous injuries. Many irresponsible passers-by did not stop even after witnessing the incident. Some time after the incident, an auto-rickshaw driver stopped seeing the accident and rushed the duo to the hospital. Notably, the railing of the overbridge is four feet. Because of this, due to high speed on sharp turns, the bike drivers fall down after hitting the railing. Even during the construction of this bridge, a young man had died after falling down from the bridge along with his bike at the same place.
