On the birth anniversary of Maharana Pratap and Maharaja Chattarsal, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced to establish the Maharana Pratap Memorial in Bhopal and May 22 as a general holiday, during the programme held at Motilal Nehru Stadium on Monday. A large number of community members from all over the State participated in the programme. Dr Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar, a descendant of Maharana Pratap, presented the soil of Haldi Ghati to the Chief Minister. The CM said that nothing in India is purer than the soil of the Haldi Ghati. This soil is a symbol of bravery and bravery of India. I will never let go of his honour and respect, even if he loses his life. This soil will remind of Maharana Pratap’s bravery, do work in the right direction.
The Chief Minister said that the State Government did not do any favour by declaring holiday on the birth anniversary of brave warrior Maharana Pratap. He said that the stories of his bravery will be taught in the textbooks of Madhya Pradesh so that future generations can read about Maharana Pratap. A grand memorial will be built for Maharana Pratap, Chetak and their other associates in Bhopal. Many welfare works should continue to happen, that’s why we will also constitute the Rana Welfare Board. Sought approval from Maharana Pratap’s descendant for guidance in the board.
Union Minister for Agriculture Narendra Tomar said “Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will be remembered for his announcement and for his development works. Whatever the announcement he had made, more than 95 per cent of them are completed”. Lakshya Raj Singh Mewar appreciated the work of Chief Minister and also thanked to accept their demand to announce the holiday on the birth anniversary of Maharana Pratap.
