The directors of co-operative societies who worked selflessly in the interest of their organisations got success. Those that worked in their self interest vanished. Credibility is created only by the actions taken by the directors and officers. Trust and goodwill are the major assets of any organisation, said Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari at the inauguration ceremony of new head office building ‘Sitaram Bhavan’ of The Dharampeth Mahila Multi State Co-Operative Society Limited at Ramnagar Square on May 21. Gadkari further said that The Dharampeth Mahila Co-operative Society achieved success on this basis. He also added that trust is important in politics and social causes.

Rupali Chakankar, Head of State Commission for Women, Vaishali Awade, Vice President of Maharashtra Urban Cooperative Banks Federation, retired Justice Vasanti Naik, former Minister Dr Parinay Phuke, Chairperson of the Society Nilima Bawane, Vice Chairperson Sarika Pendse, Consultant Kishore Bawane were prominently present.

Speaking further, Gadkari said, Nilima and Kishore Bawane established The Dharampeth Mahila Mahila Co-operative Society through dedication and hard work due to which the marvelous new head office could be built. Today working in cooperative sector is difficult, there are many issues. The work done by The Dharampeth Mahila Mahila Co-operative Society is commendable. In co-operative sector, those directors that worked for the benefit of the organisations grew and those who pursued self-interest ended. “People’s trust and credibility is the greatest asset of an organisation,” he added.

The programme was conducted by Shweta Shelgaonkar. Director of the Society Anagha Vaidya gave vote of thanks. Managing Consultant Pratap Hirani, S S Iyer, Architect Vijay Salankar, Vasudev Jangid, Ahsan Khan were felicitated. The programme was attended by the Board of Directors and members in large numbers. Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also paid a courtesy visit on the inauguration of the new head office building of the Society.
