A large number of BJP Mahila Morcha leaders led by District Mahila Morcha President Divya Kalihari to protest against the breach of promise on liquor ban in state staged ‘Chakka Jam’ at Patel Chowk Durg. The protest was held in the presence of State President of BJP Mahila Morcha Shalini Rajput and under the guidance of District BJP President Jitendra Verma. Earlier to this hundreds of women leaders from across the district gathered at the District BJP Office Durg and then marched from District BJP Office to Patel Chowk, where a large number of police forces were present to stop the protesting Mahila Morcha workers. The leaders of Mahila Morcha shouted slogans against the state Congress government and Bhupesh Baghel.

Mahila Morcha state president Shalini Rajput said that Bhupesh Baghel government indulged in liquor scam by forgetting the promise of prohibition to fund Sonia-Rahul-Priyanka. Instead made a liquor scam of 2000 crore, the arrest of big Congress leaders of Chhattisgarh and their relatives in the liquor scam is proof that the Bhupesh government has made liquor sale a source of illegal income.

District BJP President Jitendra Verma, former cabinet minister Ramsheela Sahu, Mahila Morcha District President Divya Kalihari, Mahila Morcha State Secretary Maya Belchandan also expressed their views. The rally was conducted by Mahila Morcha District General Secretary Gayatri Verma and Jayshree Rajput. Prominent leaders present included BJP State Working Committee member Usha Tawari, District BJP Vice President Alka Baghmar, District BJP Secretary Amita Banjare, State Co-Media Incharge Ayushi Pandey, Mahila Morcha Bhilai District President Sweety Kaushik, Mahila Morcha District Incharge Swati Sahu, Mahila Morcha District General Secretary Gayatri Verma and others.
