NIA Court sends 10 members of HuT to jail till June 2

Ten members of Hizb-ut-Tahrir (HuT) were produced in the NIA Court of Bhopal on Wednesday as their remand was completed on May 24. The court sent them to jail till June 2. All were taken to the court amid tight security and were presented in the court of Raghuveer Prasad Patel of NIA.
The ATS produced 16 members of HuT arrested from Bhopal, Chhindwara and Telangana in the court on May 19 as well. Then the court sent 6 to jail. The remand of the remaining 10 members was given till May 24. On May 19, the ATS sought remand of the HUT members seeking their interrogation. Opposing this, the defense side had said that the ATS has not been able to extract anything special from them in the remand taken so far. The court had approved the remand of 10 members till May 24. On May 24, all the 16 suspects were brought to the court in a mini bus for appearance. During this, tight security was placed in the court. Members of police and intelligence agencies were also present. The media was stopped at a distance. The road to the NIA Court was blocked. No one was allowed to go except the lawyers of the accused. Their family members also came to meet them, who were kept separately and allowed to meet after the hearing. Evidence found of Hizb-ut-Tahrir (HuT) links: ATS had detained 10 people from Bhopal, 1 from Chhindwara and 5 from Telangana on May 9. They were presented in the NIA Court of Bhopal. All were sent on remand for questioning till May 19. After this, till May 24, 10 members were sent to police remand and 6 to jail. Evidence was found that the accused were linked to Hizb-ut-Tahrir (HuT).
