Admission process in HYU begins today

The online portal of the Hemchand Yadav University (HYU), Durg will open from June 1, for admissions in different faculties like BA, B Com, B Sc, BCA, B Lib, BBA, DCA etc. for the session 2023-24. Giving this information, the Registrar of the University Bhupendra Kuldeep told that for detailed guidelines regarding the admission process, the Vice-Chancellor of the University Dr Aruna Palta, convened an online meeting of principals of 145 colleges affiliated to the university on Wednesday.
During the meeting, the V-C Dr Palta told that initially from June 1 to June 15, the admission portal will be open for the students seeking admission. After June 15, all the colleges will conduct the admission process according to the guidelines for admission in colleges by the Department of Higher Education, Government of Chhattisgarh Raipur.
Dr Palta informed the principals that the applicants included in the first admission list made according to merit will be given a fixed time period for document verification, taking admission and paying fees in the college. If the applicant does not take admission in that college in that fixed time period, then students with marks less than them can be given admission.
According to the instructions received from the Department of Higher Education, for the academic session 2023-24, two autonomous colleges, Science College Durg and Digvijay College Rajnandgaon, coming under the University, will create their own admission portal and give admission to their college through HYU, Durg. Similarly, in Model College Dhanora Durg and Model College Somani Rajnandgaon, which come under the school, only English medium students will be given admission. Students seeking admission in both these colleges can submit their online application by clicking on the English medium college icon displayed separately in the admission portal of the university. Dean Dr Prashant Srivastava said that this year every applicant taking admission in the first year on the admission portal will be given an opportunity to choose 05 colleges as per his wish. The admission process of applicants in these colleges will be completed on the basis of merit. After this, each college will issue the first merit list for admission in various faculties. According to Dr. Srivastava, it is mandatory to submit the student’s original mark sheet and its photocopy, transfer certificate, character certificate, domicile certificate, caste certificate and migration certificate for CBSE and ICSE students during admission.
