CM transfers Rs 32.35 crore as unemployment allowance

CHIEF MINISTER Bhupesh Baghel facilitated the transfer of funds to beneficiaries under Unemployment Allowance Scheme in a programme held at his official residence, here, on Wednesday. Large numbers of youths from participated in unemployment allowance distribution programme as the second installment of the allowance. 105,395 beneficiaries received the online transfer of funds worth Rs 32 crore 35 lakh and 25 thousand as unemployment allowance.
Besides, 1,701 beneficiaries commenced skill development training through 33 institutions as a part of the scheme.
A cumulative amount of 48 crore 89 lakh 87 thousand 500 rupees has been disbursed under the Unemployment Allowance Scheme so far. During the fund transfer, large number of beneficiaries visited the CM’s official residence to meet him from different parts of State. Participants from districts connected through video conferencing. After the fund transfer, Baghel interacted with the beneficiaries, discussing about the scheme.
Poonam Soni of Raipur, expressing gratitude towards the CM, termed the unemployment as a curse. “By providing the allowance along with skill development training, you are eliminating this curse from Chhattisgarh”, she remarked, adding that this initiative is providing new opportunities for youths like her, and the prospects of employment are increasing. Renuka Sahu, hailing from Kanker, shared her family’s financial struggles with the Chief Minister, emphasizing that the unemployment allowance enables her to complete her education. Bharatpur district informed the Chief Minister that after his father’s accident, he was despondent as he could not find a way to continue his studies. However, with the financial support received through the Unemployment Allowance Scheme, he has resumed his studies and started preparing for employment. Lalaram Karsh of Bilaspur stated that due to a lack of technical skills, he has been unable to secure a job. He extended his gratitude towards the Chief Minister for initiating the Unemployment Allowance Scheme and shared his enrollment in a training program for assistant electricians. This training will help him secure employment and enable him to establish his own business, providing job opportunities to others as well. Many other youths also expressed their gratitude towards the Chief Minister for the Unemployment Allowance Scheme and skill development training. As a result of this initiative, 1701 youths have already begun vocational training in various institutions. Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Baghel expressed his happiness that the Unemployment Allowance Scheme is benefiting unemployed youths. However, he added that his ultimate satisfaction would come when every unemployed youth becomes employed. The Chief Minister stated that the government was continuously releasing vacancies for government jobs and also providing them with skill development training so they could start their own ventures. Technical Education Minister Umesh Patel, School Education Minister Dr Premsai Singh Tekam, Advisor to Chief Minister Pradeep Sharma, Principal Secretary Skill Development and Technical Education Department Dr Alok Shukla, Secretary Technical Education Topeshwar Verma, Secretary Skill Development Shammi Abidi and Director Employment and Training Avnish Sharan were also present on the occasion.
