The 15th Annual General Body Meeting of General Insurance Pensioner’s Association, Western Zone (GIPA, WZ), Nagpur Branch was organised recently at Saraswat Mandal Hall, Nagpur. The meeting was inaugurated by Naresh Kankariya, Chief Regional Manager of Oriental Insurance Co Ltd. Arun Kulkarni, Vice President of General Insurance Pensioners All India Federation (GIPAIF) presided over the meeting. Gurudas Hemrajani, Secretary, GIPA WZ, Nagpur Branch and Rupali Gautam, Deputy Manager, Oriental Insurance Co Ltd were present on the dias.
 
Naresh Kankariya in inaugural address praised of General Insurance Pensioner’s Association (GIPA) for their noble working. He thanked the pensioners for their services given to the Public Sector General Insurers Companies (PSGIC) with full devotion. Gurudas Hemrajani provided information about GIPA Nagpur Branch and put his report and accounts before the house, which were passed unanimously. M B Mishra focused on the ‘White Paper’ ‘AAJ, KAL Aur’ issued by GIPAIF on PSGICs journey from nationalisation in 1971 till 2023.
 
“PSGI employees will have to unite and struggle relentlessly to achieve their demands,” said Prashant Dixit, General Secretary, General Insurance Employees’ Union, Western Zone. He saluted the retired employees for their struggle in the past for nationalisation of the company and for achieving various benefits. Arun Kulkarni appealed the pensioners to fight to protect PSGICs and achieve the legitimate demands. The pensioners who had completed 75 years were felicitated in the meeting. Pradeep Awachat, Organising Secretary, GIPA, Nagpur Branch conducted the meeting. While, M B Mishra proposed a vote of thanks. A large number of pensioners of all the PSGICs were present.
