With only a month remaining for the general elections, no party has finalised its candidate for Ramtek Lok Sabha seat. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Shiv Sena (Shinde group), both constituents of Mahayuti, are pushing their candidates for this constituency. They have yet to reach any decision. Congress too is in dilemma over the choice of its candidate. Nobody is sure whether Krupal Tumane, a two-time Member of Parliament would be repeated by his party (Shiv Sena Shinde group) or not.

BJP claimed that it would win this seat while Shinde Sena says that its candidate is the present MP of the constituency. Krupal Tumane had been to Mumbai to meet Eknath Shinde, Chief Minister to know the status. According to sources, even Shinde is in a mood to change Tumane and rope in some other candidate. Tumane has defeated Kishor Gajbhiye in 2014 and Mukul Wasnik in 2019. According to BJP, Tumane could win from Shiv Sena because of BJP-Sena alliance. Now, BJP is arguing that its own candidate could garner solid votes.

Raju Parwe, Congress MLA from Umred recently met Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister, leading to rumors that former might join BJP and would be fielded from Ramtek. From Congress, name of Kunal Raut is doing rounds for Ramtek. For Nagpur and Ramtek constituency, the procedure for filing nominations will begin on Wednesday. Meanwhile, about a month ago, Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar) declared name of Prakash Gajbhiye, former MLC as the candidate of Maha Vikas Aaghadi for Ramtek Lok Sabha.
