On the third day of the issuance of election notification on Friday, three candidates filed nomination papers for Nagpur Lok Sabha constituency while one candidate filed nomination for Ramtek Lok Sabha constituency. The notification for the election was issued on March 20. On the first day, one person filed nomination for Nagpur and no one filed for Ramtek. Dr Vipin Itankar, Collector and District Election Officer, informed, “Five nomination have been filed till now for Nagpur. First nomination for Ramtek was received on Friday.” Narayan Chaudhary (Socialist Unity Center of India, Communist), Sahil Turkar (Independent) and Deepak Maske (Bahujan Maha Party) filed their candidature for Nagpur Lok Sabha constituency.
 
Pramod Khobragade (Ambedkarite Party of India) filed an application for Ramtek. On Friday, 104 applications were sold for Ramtek and 131 for Nagpur. Apart from public holidays, nomination papers can be submitted between 11 am and 3 pm till March 27,2024. The nomination papers will be scrutinised on March 28. Candidates are expected to withdraw their candidature by March 30. Voting will be held on April 19. Election Office has appealed candidates to not wait till last date for filing of nomination. Though last date is March 27, there are three holidays in between--March 23 (Fourth Saturday), March 24 (Sunday) and March 25 (Holi). Dr Vipin Itankar has urged officers to take efforts so that the voting percentage should go beyond 75%.
