Expressing surprise over the indifference of Students Development Department, which reached only 7 colleges for the promotion of its schemes, Dr Prashant Bokare, Acting Vice Chancellor of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur asked its head to reach institutions by April 15, 2024. Students Development Department has brought about 30-40 schemes for the benefit of the students. Considering that there are 514 colleges under RTMNU, the Department decided to reach the colleges in a phase-wise manner to let the students know about the schemes. Many students are not aware of the schemes run by university for their welfare. Students Development Department prepared a book named ‘Garudzep’, wherein all these schemes and their details are given.

The Department, with the help of Senate members, planned to reach 75 colleges initially from January 12, 2024 and handover the book ‘Garudzep’. Shubhangi Naxine, a senate member, on Friday, asked university as to how many colleges the department could reach under the campaign ‘75 Colleges to be contacted’ and handover ‘Garudzep’ to them. Mangesh Pathak, Director of the Department, told the House that only 7 colleges were contacted. This shocked everybody present in the House. Shubhangi Naxine brought to the notice of Vice-Chancellor she, along with some other senate members, tried to reach the colleges while spending money from their own pockets but no steps were taken by University.

Dinesh Sheram pointed out, “University has made the schemes for the benefit of the students but only a few are availing the advantage. If this book is distributed, then everyone would come to know about the schemes.” Dr Babanrao Taywade narrated a story of a handicapped girl who is in dire need of financial aid. Dr Taywade alleged that Students Development Department failed to help the student. Adv Manmohan Bajpai made it clear that the book should reach all the colleges affiliated to RTMNU. Dr Bokare asked Mangesh Pathak to be ready with the books, distribute those to affiliated colleges, conducted colleges, constituent colleges, Post Graduate Departments, all members of statutory bodies by April 15, 2024.
