ON THE eve of Holi celebrations, traders under the banner of Nag Vidarbha Chamber of Commerce (NVCC) observed the‘Holi Milan’event with great fanfare here at Press CLub in Civil Lines on Sunday. Asasymboli cgesture toop pose online marketing platforms, pending cases related to Local Body Tax (LBT) and inflationarytrend, the traders burnt Holi. While performing the traditional ‘Holi Dahan’ ceremony, the traders were holding placards highlighting slogans to opposeVAT assessment cases. They were also opposing the growing influence of online marketing companies saying that the muti-national companies are destroying their traditional trade. Itisalso important to note that many traders here have been receiving notices related to erstwhile LBT.

 

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari was the chief guest of the function. Attheoutset, former President of NVCC and Chairman of the Administrator-appointed committee Hemant Gandhi, welcomed the guests. Former MLC Girish Vyas; former Chairman of Standing Committee of Nagpur Municipal Corporation Virendra Kukreja; General Secretary of Maharashtra Bharatiya Janata Party Jai Prakash Gupta; former presidents of NVCC including Dipen Agrawal, Prafulla Doshi, Nilesh Suchak, Jagdish Bang, Mayur Panchmatiya and others were also present.
