On Tuesday, Crime Branch personnel arrested five individuals namely Aslam Khan (26), Shahrukh Khan (25), Asrad Khan (23), Taha Qureshi (24) and Yaavar Khan (24) while planning to commit robbery in the city. Among them, Shahrukh Khan (25) was carrying award of Rs 30,000 on his head under sections 307, 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) in the Arera Hills Police Station on the charges of attempt to murder where he stabbed an individual 20 times with knife and sword over an amicable settlement. As per the information by the police, an informer of the police gave the information that some people are planning for a robbery in CNG petrol pump at Khejda Bypass at a ruined building near coach factory. It was also reported that the intruders had an illegal pistol and other weapons.

 

When police reached the location, they found that the rewarded accused Shahrukh along with his gangmates is planning to commit a crime. Taking action, the accused were arrested by the crime branch and a case was registered under sections 399 and 402 of the IPC and Section 25/27 of the Arms Act on the charges of making preparations to commit dacoity and assembling for the purpose of the same. A pistol with seven rounds, 2 knives, bamboo sticks, packets of chilly powder, black rope, a white Alto car were also seized. In the interrogation, they accepted that they were planning for the robbery and further interrogation with the accused and investigation of the crime is in progress.
