LS Poll: 33 candidates file 43 nomination papers

With the announcement of Lok Sabha Elections 2024, the process of filing nomination papers has began for the first phase of voting in the State. According to the State Election Commission, a total 64 nomination papers have been filed by 49 candidates in the State so far. The process has stated from March 20. State Chief Electoral Officer Anupam Rajan said that as per the election programme, on Tuesday, 33 candidates have filed 43 nomination papers. Since the release of the notification, a total of 64 nomination papers have been filled by 49 candidates. Affidavits and other information of the candidates who have filed nomination papers can be seen on the website of Election Commission of India.
 
According to the notification nomination papers for the first phase can be filled till 3 pm on March 27. Scrutiny of nomination papers will be done on Thursday 28. Candidates who have filed nominations will be able to withdraw their names till March 30. Voting for the first phase will take place on April 19. Counting of votes will take place on June 4. In an attempt to have free and fair elections, commission has also launched application named C Vigil to receive complain. Authority has taken prompt action and resolved the cases.
 
Rajan has requested the citizens of the State that if they want to make any direct complaint related to violation of Model Code of Conduct in elections, they can do so through cVIGIL app. The first randomisation for Lok Sabha elections 2024, has been completed in 52 districts of the State. The first phase of EVM randomisation was conducted for Indore, Alirajpur, Jhabua, Khargone, Barwani, Dhar, Khandwa, Burhanpur, Ujjain, Dewas, Shajapur, Ratlam, Mandsaur, Neemuch, Agar Malwa, Panna, Guna and Shahdol districts.
