In a show of unity within Maha Vikas Aaghadi, Congress candidate for Nagpur Lok Sabha seat Vikas Thakre was accompanied by party stalwarts and leaders of the constituents of Maha Vikas Aaghadi, when he filed his nomination papers on Tuesday. Thakre completed the procedure and submitted the papers to Dr Vipin Itankar, District Collector and Returning Officer for Nagpur and Ramtek Lok Sabha elections. Nana Patole, President of Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee; Anil Deshmukh, senior leader of Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar); Vijay Wadettiwar, Leader of Opposition in Assembly; Sunil Kedar, former minister, accompanied him. Earlier, all the leaders gathered at Variety Square and paid their respects to the statue of Mahatma Gandhi. Thakre and others then reached Samvidhan Square and garlanded the statue of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar.

 

The joint rally then moved towards Collector office.
