Nadir Rashid, owner of the famed 5-star Hotel Jehan Numa Palace, was found dead at his residence Shamala Kothi on Wednesday morning, triggering speculations and subsequent intense investigations by the police. The 72-year-old business tycoon’s sudden passing away has cast a dark shadow on business circles and the capital. The possibility of suicide cannot be denied but police is probing the matter.
 
Police sources said that Nadir Rashid was suffering from illness and hence was depressed. Police personnel attached to the Shyamala Hills Police Station reached the spot on receiving the information and started a probe. Rashid’s body has been sent to the hospital for post-mortem. No suicide note was recovered from the spot. Nadir Rashid, belonged to the Nawabi family. Rashid was the son of Suraiya, the ruler of Bhopal. He is survived by his wife and two sons.
