Chhattisgarh finds itself embroiled in political fervor amidst the backdrop of Mahadev betting, coal scam, and liquor scam allegations. With several businessmen and officials behind bars and numerous FIRs lodged against Congress leaders, including former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, tensions are running high in the state. In light of recent developments, Finance Minister OP Choudhary addressed concerns regarding the interrogation of those implicated in the Mahadev betting, coal scam, and liquor scam cases by the Economic Offenses Wing (EOW). Speaking to the media persons, OP Choudhary asserted that investigating agencies are diligently pursuing action against those responsible for the scams.
 
Choudhary highlighted the significant cash seizures made by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), amounting to crores of rupees, further emphasising the Government’s commitment to swift and impartial investigations. He stated that political motives are set aside in these proceedings, echoing Prime Minister Modi's stance of zero tolerance for corruption. Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma weighed in on the recent Naxalite incidents and its potential impact on the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Expressing concerns over BJP workers being targeted, Sharma acknowledged the enduring struggle against such threats. He emphasiged the need to mitigate any adverse effects on the BJP's electoral prospects.
 
Addressing the aftermath of the Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast that injured tribal youth, Deputy Chief Minister Sharma lamented the indiscriminate harm caused to both animals and villagers by such attacks. He underscored the detrimental impact of IEDs on the development of Bastar villages, citing them as a significant obstacle. Sharma stressed the urgent need to address security challenges to foster sustainable development in the region.
